At TechEd using the new IBM Tablet PC

I'm at TechEd writing my first Inkineer post on the new IBM PC Tablet PC (X41) -- using the TIP and the Tablet PC's handwriting recognition of course.

The Tablet is surprisingly light. It's thinner, feels, and looks smaller and lighter than my Toshiba M200.

The display is wonderfully visible at all difficult angles. It's on par with the Fujitsu displays I've used.

Any downsides? I'd like a mechanical volume control. And in portrait mode my left hand holds the Tablet right where some of the bottom vents are.

These issues aside, this is a killer Tablet.

Seeing that I'm left-handed, I'd be happy to take that Tablet off your hands as I wouldn't have that venting issue ;-)

I wish it was mine to give away :). Unfortunately it's a Tablet from the Hands On Lab. Maybe someday. Maybe someday.

Loren,

As a fellow M205 owner, I'm curious how the screen res looks to you. I always run the Tosh in 1400x1050, and my significant other finds the res too straining on the eyes. Then again, she says looking at ME strains her eyes too, so maybe it's a bigger issue than the tablet.... ;)

Thanks!
