MiniMage Again - Short Tablet Takes

Hopefully this will be the blog that has short, frequent entries about doing the TabletPC thing.

If you like any of this, I welcome you to check out my general tech blog at http://miniaturemage.blogspot.com/

The Sun Will Come out Tomorrow!

Two weeks after ViewSonic received my TabletPC for the second time, I gave them a call for a status update.  That was on Wednesday.  The rep told me that the machine should have been shipped, but hadn't, and that she would call the repair folks for an update.  I called them again on Friday, and I was given the tracking number.  According to the FedEx site, it will be back in my eager palms on Monday!

I probably don't have to tell many of you how miserable I've been without my baby.  I am quite happy about the deal I got on eBay for my Gateway laptop (my Dell laptop died the first time I shipped my TPC to ViewSonic), but it is not the equal of my TabletPC.  It requires effort on my part to switch from one wireless network to another (I've tried several wireless cards).  It is incapable of using Standby.  It succeeds about half the time in coming out of Hibernate.  I may carry it many places I go, but I don't take it everywhere, and when I do take it, most of the time I leave it in the bag.  My work-related documents, forms and notes are in GoBinder, which requires Windows XP, and my laptop has Windows 2000 (it does have an XP Home Certificate of Authenticity, but no thanks!).  The worst part is that I'm rather forced to use paper, if I need to jot down a quick note here or there.

It is so strange to be sitting here wishing Monday would hurry up and get here...but then, my on-call has been hell for the past couple of days, so it's not like I've had much of a weekend, anyway.

Glad that your unit is on the way back. Once you start using a Tablet PC, it is difficult to work without it.
