Ink Experience

  • A way for my son Isaac to express himself

Isaac wanted to draw pictures after looking at my previous post. I thought this would be a good way to let him play with technology.  The figure on the left is the Goddess of Chaos and the figure on the right is Sinbad.  These are characters from the DreamWorks movie, Sinbad Legend of the Seven Seas.

  • I love the ink!

    Inking here is so Cool!

  • My INK works!

I just got around to uninstalling the beta version Visual Studio 2005.  Using the beta version didn't allow the inking to work here.

  • A Tablet PC sleeve worth checking out

After purchasing my Toshiba R15, I had to protect my invenstment. I checked out several tablet sleeves and didn't see anything that allowed me to write on the screen while protecting it and the tablet body. I eventually came across a site called The Pouch.

I wanted a black sleeve that would allow me to carry my tablet over my shoulder then shift it in front of my body in writing mode. I was curious about how they were made, so I drove to the facility and became instantly impressed. I was greeted by the owner and given a tour of the place. I spent a few minutes with the designer asking to costomize a few things on their exsisting design. She whipped up a sketch and I had my sleeve completed in a reasonable amount of time for $75.00.

I couldn't be happier with the design. This sleeve removes productivity barriers. I carry it over the shoulder in standby mode and when I need to capture thoughts, shift it to the front while pressing the OneNote button. I then flip the screen cover back and away I write. I would caution that the screen cover is padded nylon and will not protect the screen from impact.

Here is a picture of the sleeve in carry-mode.

  • A solution to my Toshiba R15 Bluetooth blues

I really wanted Bluetooth technology in my Tablet but didn't want to deal with a dongle sticking out of a USB port. I have an SD card slot in the side and I found a Toshiba Bluetooth SD Card3 that runs version 1.2. This satisfies many issues, one of them being the included headset profile. It doesn't stick out nearly as far as a dongle would.
  • holiday tree

We spent this weekend decorating the tree. My son had a blast.
  • Check this out

    Welcome to my first post!

I've been listening to podcasts for over a year and have enjoyed gadget related subjects. One of my favorite podcasts comes from the folks at Mobile Tech Roundup site. Hosts of the show are David Ciccone, James Kendrick and Kevin C. Tofel.

I started listening to David Ciccone since his first podcast at Dave's Ipaq, now Mobility Today. He has great reviews and a huge following in the pocket pc community.

I discovered James Kendrick doing research for my first tablet pc purchase. I heard him on an earlier tablet pc podcast. He has a wonderful blog at jkOnTheRun.

I wanted to listen to my podcasts on any of my devices and Kevin C. Tofel took me by the hand to show how it could be done. Kevin has just updated his blog from kct's digital world to Kevin 2.0. Go check it out!

Wow! All three of them making a good thing. If it wasn't for their willingness to share their knowledge, I wouldn't have become so excited about these gadget communities. And here I am starting something I've wanted to do for a long time and it took these influential hosts to help make it happen. Thank You!

    Whats next....mmm....podcasting?
