A Typical Neek Dinner

For this week’s podcast, we decided to try something different and less formal. We let audacity record our Friday night dinner and spent the weekend editing it so that you did not have to listen to the really bad jokes and our hours of bantering around nonsense (known as Neeking). Instead, we kept the conversation rolling (by editing) as we were sitting around eating Tommy’s Burgers. Yes we jumped from one topic to another as randomly as three Neeks just sitting around the dinner table – Neeking the night away.

In this podcast, we cover dad googling, Sarah checking grades online using Edline, which company owns the most domain names? What is not ***? and what is amoxicillin? What is the latest movie anyway?

Sadly, Sarah opted to cut out the funniest parts about ETS criterion (an online service which checks and grades essays). Oh well. You should have been there. At least you can get a sense of teenage madness with this podcast.

We finally put together our interview with Fritz “The Cool” Switzer. Why the name? He was polite enough to record this second interview after the first one was lost.* He was cool under fire and cool as he told his joke about his website address.

This interview is our longest and we hope all of our friends listen to the future of discipline in a classroom. Uh oh. If the teacher is using the ablet from AbletFactory, then we better focus while in class. Yikes!

Our 6th podcast is finally done. There were many technical diffictulties in getting this one recorded, edited, and posted. Though, we think it’s a great podcast and hope you enjoy it. We would like to thank Chris D and Linda E for their patience in working through the technical difficulties while standing in the walkway at CES 2006. They share their thoughts about Tablet PCs with us in this podcast.

This podcast is a bit shorter than most of the others due to the fact that the first recording was deleted. But don’t worry, it still as good.

During the Consumer Electronics Show 2006, we were able to talk with Ken Collura from Bishop Hartley High School, where all students use Tablet PCs and Cia, Superintendent of Bishop Hartley schools. Ken explains how students and teachers use the Tablet PCs, how the Tablet PCs have helped students with different learning styles, and Cia explains her role in making sure each student has a Tablet PC.

We would like to thank Ken Collura and Cia for allowing us to record this interview on the CES 2006 showroom floor. We appreciate their patience as we had to save segments while doing the interview. We removed certain segments because the noise level was a bit loud with people passing by.

Oh, and don’t miss the Heiny teenage podcasters! They were all over the show interviewing people. Here they interviewed Chris Barry who manages part of the Tablet PC team (five minutes). It’s a cool thing when everyone, including some teens, can be reporters at CES. They were really fun to talk with and hang out with. What a family! (I think there were eight members of the Heiny family at CES).

We come from a great family.

Although we had other Neek Talk podcasts planned, while we were wandering around the CES 2006 showroom floor we had the opportunity to interview Chris Barry, group manager of XP, Tablet PC, x64 marketing. So, we decided to postpone our other podcasts and post our interview with him instead.

We asked him what he thought about the Tablet PC, what he would change about the Tablet PC…. In my opinion, it was a really interesting interview, and we hope you enjoy it just as much as we did creating it.
