The Motion LS800, what do you think?

I am sure all of you have read the Motion Computing LS800 press release by now and you have formed an opinion. Is this a cool introduction? Is it the perfect size because it is the size of a small paperback book? Is it priced just right at $1,899? What do you think?

Based on this picture, I would probably hold it in portrait mode with the buttons on the bottom.

This looks like a great unit. Although I think I'd consider it as a second Tablet rather than my primary one because of the size. I can see where it would be good for note taking, general access to info etc., but I don't see it as a replacement for my notebook like my current Tablet was. I wish it was a little lower in price and that they would have at least released it with the full 512mb at the current price. I don't think in this day and age that 256mb is realistic on a Tablet. I know I bumped my current one up to it's max of 1GB, because of all the stuff I usually have running at any given point in time.

Ah, the temptation.

I agree with Bill - I am already scouring my savings accounts to check the LS800 out for a secondary tablet for meetings/ notes etc, but will keep my M200 for heavy duty work.

I agree Bill and Nick. The amount of RAM is too little and should be at least 512 MB with most of us trying to get it to 1 GB.

Ditto on the ram. I'm sure after my work's "standard load" it would be very slow. BUT, as a note taker and a travel computer it looks perfect. It's the size I've been looking for. And I thnk the price is not too high. Now I just have to figure out how to get my IT department to use me as a test subject on it. I'd love to hear from folks who try it.
