TD on Tablet PC

Tales, trials and tribulations of integrating the Tablet PC into a multi-business environment from someone who does not work for Microsoft.

No inking or audio on tabletpcblogs.com?

Signed up for a blog here and to my surprise there is no inking or audio posting support? I checked through the advanced menu and nadda. Please, somebody (Layne?), tell me where I missed it? If inking is in fact not available, then please consider getting with Charles and making it happen. Without inking, audio posting, custom templates and/or something else unique to tablets, then this isn't going to be anything more than MSN Spaces with a tablet slant.

I already have an MSN spaces blog. Why should Tablet PC users blog here if they can't do anything Tablet unique (and show off the features and functionality that make a Tablet unique)? Sorry, nothing personal here, but this is not a great job. The concept is promising, yes, but the execution isn't there. Not saying it couldn't or won't be. Perhaps a better use of this domain would be something creative to aggregate and access the many different Tablet PC blogs?

Blogging on a slate still blows. Would be cool to see this grow into something that changes that experience for slate users. Now there would be a niche. Embraces the experience and makes it easier to blog without a keyboard. Maybe these features/functionality are coming in a future version? Or are they already here and I'm just not seeing them (that says something too).

Sorry for the delay. I was fixing the skins. The older skins for CommunityServer 1.0 were causing problems with regards to posting comments. They have been removed until I can track down what is wrong.

You are making some good points here - and we'll address them as soon as possible.

Inking is on the way - after CS 1.1 has been officially released and some people return from vacation. No promises on a time frame.

I haven't thought about audio but that is a good idea.

Keep thinking of ways to make this site unique (besides the content) and let us know!

This post on the main site still show -15 minutes ago. Might be a bug as well.

Check your timezone and make sure that it is correct. By default, the timezone is set to GMT. I had to change mine to Pacific.

The timezone was one of the first things I changed (before leaving any comments here). That's usually one of the first things I do at every messageboard or site I sign up for because most want to default to GMT (sensible on the web). It was still buggy, although now everything looks fine and I haven't changed anything.

TDavid - ink is exactly why we're making the changes over to community server. We hope to have ink for the blogs "soon". (Give us a few weeks. It'll be after TechEd.)

I checked CS forums and there are other people posting about the time / date issue too. Maybe it will be fixed in future releases.

I put in a line of code for the other skins and added a new skin for everyone to try. I was able to add comments and the line of code seemed to have fixed the problem. Go ahead and try to find one you prefer.
