TD on Tablet PC

Tales, trials and tribulations of integrating the Tablet PC into a multi-business environment from someone who does not work for Microsoft.

Toshiba Tablet spotted in local Best Buy

At one time last year our local Best Buy store carried one model Tablet PC. It was featured prominently on the end of an aisle and then moved to the back corner by the cheap laptops and then ... [gasp] it disappeared. This was the last time I saw a Tablet PC -- any tablet pc -- in a retail store.

Today while shopping at Best Buy (Puyallup, WA) I was delighted to see featured at the end of the aisle the Toshiba (R15-S822) Tablet PC. The price: $1,599 USD. It wasn't in as prominent a location as it was a year or so ago, but it was still in a fairly prominent location slotted near the computer area help desk.

I also noticed they were selling the Apple Mac Mini.

I received Best Buys "get schooled in technology" flyer/book in the mail today. It's focus is getting ready to go back to school. I was pleasantly surprised to on Page 5 that they were showing the Toshiba R15-S822 tablet. It's a large sized picture of a person writing on the screen and an inset showing how the screen rotates. Not to bad. I think it would have had a little more impact if they'd opted to show something on the screen rather than a blank blue one.

Oh well, the fact that they even had a Tablet in the flyer was a big plus!
