On one of our networks we have six machines, including a Mac and a Tablet. One of our primary development machine's hard drive was running low on disk space (under 1GB), so we went out and bought a Lacie 250 GB external hard drive from the local megastore. Yeah, could have bought an internal slave drive cheaper, but I had an idea.

They were selling these drives for $149 on sale which weighs in at $1.67/GB and should hold up until the external TB drives roll out in the sub $500 price range. It had occured to me that the Tablet could use this drive too to expand the hard disk space for stuff I didn't absolutely have to have on the local drive. I created a special tablet snippets directory and then moved across my existing snippets.
Since my tablet only has 60 GB of disk space (54 GB free after system stuff) and a little over 30GB I didn't want to run low. Seem weird to use the word "only" when 60 GB used to be considered a ton of space, but these days, especially when working with lots of pictures and video, even 250 GB isn't very much. I'm sure the day will arrive when we say: remember when we only had 1TB drives? Oh, those were the dark ages!
