A brief thread about using ink on blogs and wikis.

After adding iexplore.exe.config, and enabling ink, I am able to post using ink via the whiteboard. I found another posting that mentioned some text must be included in the post in order for the posting of ink to succeed.

    Some of the limitations

When ink is posted to the Community Server based blog or wiki, it is transformed into a GIF image. Although this makes the posting easily visible to non-Tablet users, it does make the system somewhat less useful as a collaboration tool between Tablet users.

Microsoft and others have posted some information about making ink persistant in web applications. Examples can be found at:

    Re: Some of the limitations

With persistant ink, a tablet user should be able to take the posted ink and paste it into MathJournal from xThink and generate the plot. The student could then make changes to see how the plot was affected.

    Example plot from MathJournal:

    Re: Some of the limitations

Unfortunately another limitation in the Community Server software today is the inability to paste from an ink enabled application such as MathJournal or Microsoft's Notepad into the whiteboard.

Thank you Paul. Community Server developers frequent this site and will see your post and idea. Have a great weekend and let us know if you have other ideas, too.
